Biography

The Hon. Ronald S. Coen is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He originally presided over the Los Angeles Municipal Court.

Judge Coen received his B.A. from California State University. He went on to earn his J.D. from California Western School of Law.

Prior to becoming a Municipal Court judge, Coen served as a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for 11 years.

During his time on the bench, Judge Coen presided over the rapper, Marion "Suge" Knight's murder trial in 2015.

His son, the Hon. Sean D. Coen is also a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge.
