The Hon. Robert S. Draper is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2012 by former governor Jerry Brown. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jacqueline A. Connor (Ret.).
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Draper received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Draper became an associate at the law firm of O'Melveny and Myers LLP in 1968. He was named a partner in 1976 and would represent high-profile clients such as Lockheed Martin, Paramount Studios, and IBM Corp, during his 37 years practicing for the firm. In 2005 Draper left O'Melveny and Myers to enter into private practice. He opened the Law Offices of Robert S. Draper that same year and remained a sole practitioner until being appointed to the Superior Court in 2012.
