Biography

The Hon. Robert S. Boyd is a judge for the Superior Court of Sonoma County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Pete Wilson in November 1997, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Robert Gallagher.

Boyd earned a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1965. He then completed a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1971.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Boyd was a sole practitioner in his own private practice.

Born and raised in San Mateo County, Boyd has lived in Sonoma County since 1977. He was a resident of Sebastopol, California at the time of his appointment.
