Biography

The Hon. Robert P. Applegate is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Meredith C. Taylor.

Judge Applegate received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and went on to earn his J.D. from UCLA School of Law.

Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court, Applegate had been a commissioner for the court since 1999. He previously served as a juvenile court referee and had spent 21 years in private practice.
