Biography

The Hon. Robert G. Chu is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2018 by former governor Jerry Brown.

He is a registered Democrat.

Judge Chu received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to earn his J.D. from Southwestern Law School.

He began his legal career as an associate at the law firm Masry and Vititoe in 2006.

That same year, Chu became a deputy public defender for the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office. Chu would later become a supervising deputy public defender and would remain with the P.D.'s office until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2018.
