Biography

The Hon. Richard L. Fruin, Jr. is a judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Pete Wilson in 1995.

Judge Fruin received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law in 1965.

In 1998 students from Compton High School honored Judge Fruin for legal classes that he taught at the high school. He began teaching the classes in the spring of 1996.

Judge Fruin, an accomplished writer, has authored two books.
