The Hon. Raymond L. Haight III is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005.
Haight earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Southern California in 1972. He then completed a J.D. from California Western School of Law in 1975.
He began his legal career in 1975. He first worked as a law clerk for the Office of County Counsel of Kern County. Later that year, he joined the Office of County Counsel as deputy county counsel.
Three years later, he joined the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County, where he served as a deputy district attorney until 1994. During his tenure there, he was assigned to the Career Criminals Unit and the Central Gang Unit.
After a short hiatus, Haight joined the Superior Court of San Bernardino County, first as a juvenile court referee and then as a court commissioner.
Haight is a recipient of the Kaufman-Campbell Award from the San Bernardino County Bar Association.
Raised in Redlands, California, Haight comes from a politically prominent family. He is descendant of those who developed the Haight-Ashbury area of San Francisco. He is also related to Henry Huntly Haight, the tenth governor of California, as well as Raymond Haight, the first state corporations commissioner.
