Biography

The Hon. Philip J. Moscone (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown in 1981, where he served as the presiding judge of the criminal division and the associate judge of the appellate division.

Moscone earned a B.S. from St. Mary’s College in 1965. He then received a J.D. from the San Francisco Law School in 1970.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Moscone worked as a deputy city attorney for the Office of the City Attorney of San Francisco.
