Biography

The Hon. Paul Slavit is a retired Commissioner of the Superior Court of San Francisco, California.

He was presiding over the Traffic Court and had attracted attention much attention sometime in 2003 when roughly 2,300 war protestors facing infractions began appearing in his courtroom. He ruled that the DA would have to file more than altered citations stated in the police reports in many of those cases or he’d dismiss them all. Prosecutors complied within the 10 days Slavit gave to amend.

Hon. Slavit is known for fairness in his judgments from both sides of opposing counsels on typical traffic cases appearing before him.
