The Hon. Paul P. Burdick is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Cruz County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on February 7, 2006, filling a vacancy created by the death of the Hon. Arthur Danner III (deceased).
Burdick earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Santa Clara. He then received a J.D. from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
He began his legal career in 1979. He worked as an associate at Britton & Jackson, which held a contract as the county’s public defender firm. Ten years later, he left the firm and joined Dunlap & Burdick, where he worked as an associate until his appointment to the bench in 2006. Throughout his legal career, Burdick specialized in criminal law as well as personal injury law.
