Biography

The Hon. Patrick Connolly is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was elected to the bench in 2008.

Judge Connolly received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1991.

After graduating from law school, Connolly joined the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office in 1992. During his 16 years with the D.A., Connolly served as a criminal gang prosecutor.

During his time on the bench, Judge Connolly, who earned a reputation for being combative during his time as a deputy district attorney, received a public admonishment in 2016 from the Commission on Judicial Performance for alleged abuse of his judicial authority as well as his mistreatment of an attorney that appeared in his courtroom in July of 2010.

In 2006, Judge Connolly suffered a nearly fatal liver failure.
