Biography

The Hon. Nicole M. Heeseman is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench in 2017 by former governor Jerry Brown. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John P. Doyle (Ret.).

She is registered without party preference.

Judge Heeseman received her B.A. from Claremont McKenna College. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Heeseman had served as a court commissioner for the Los Angeles County Superior Court since 2014. Heeseman began her legal career with the court, where she served as a research attorney starting in 1999. She would also serve as a supervising research attorney from 2001 to 2006 and a managing research attorney for the court from 2006 to 2014.
