The Hon. Michael B. Donner is a judge for the Riverside County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008.
He is a registered Republican.
Before attending college, Donner served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
He would then graduate with his bachelor's degree in political science from California State University, Fullerton. After working briefly as a private investigator, Donner then pursued his law degree, graduating from Southwestern University School of Law with his J.D. in 1983.
While in law school, Donner clerked for the Los Angeles law firm Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley, and Jennett. After law school, he joined the firm full-time, where he worked as an associate until being named a partner in 1988. In that role, Donner would practice out of their newly established Inland Empire office. Then, in 1998, Donner established his own firm, Donner, Fernandez, and Lauby, where he practiced until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2008.
While on the bench, Judge Donner has presided over a criminal trials calendar at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
Donner, who is a native of California, is speculated to be a descendant of the ill-fated Donner party.
