Biography

The Hon. Maureen F. Hallahan is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Charles Wickersham.

Hallahan earned a B.A. in psychology from San Diego State University in 1976. She then received a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1981.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Hallahan was an equity partner in Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch. She served on the firm’s management committee, specializing in business, intellectual property, employment, and fiduciary litigation. She has also worked as an associate at Mulvaney, Kahan & Barry as well as Miller, Boyko & Bell.

Hallahan was president of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers as well as the Lawyers Club of San Diego.

Her memberships have included the California Judges Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the Lawyers Club of San Diego. She has also been an active participant of the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, the AIDS Legal Clinic, the United Way Campaign, and the Big Sister League of San Diego.

Hallahan is a recipient of the Tribute to Women in Industry Award from the YWCA.

She is registered as a Democrat.
