Biography

The Hon. Mark R. Forcum is a judge for the Superior Court of San Mateo County in California. He initially presided over the Municipal Court of San Mateo County from 1987 to 1992, at which time he was elected to the Superior Court of San Mateo County.

Forcum earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1976. He then continued his studies at Yale Law School, completing a J.D. in 1979.

He began his legal career as a deputy district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of San Mateo County in 1980.

The following year, the left the public sector and accepted a position as an associate at McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen.

Forcum has served as a director of the Alliance of California Judges.

He was born in San Francisco, California.
