The Hon. Marjorie A. Slabach (Ret.) served as a commissioner for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. She was appointed by the court in 1997, where she presided over the Unified Family Court until 2011.
Slabach earned an A.A. from Hesston Junior College in 1963. She continued her studies at Goshen College, where she received a B.A. in 1965. Six years later, she completed a M.A.T. from Indiana University. Then, in 1982, she earned a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Prior to her appointment to the Superior Court of San Francisco County, Slabach was a founding partner of Conner, Slabach, Lawrence & Rodney, a private family law firm located in Santa Rosa, California.
Slabach has served on the board of directors of the Association of Family Conciliation Courts. She has also served as president of Overcoming Barriers.
She received the Outstanding Service to Family Law Award from the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (2013), the Judicial Officer of the Year Award from the Family Law Section of the California State Bar (2010), and the Champion for the Children Award from Rally Visitation Services of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital (2010).
Slabach was born and raised in Indiana. Before pursuing a legal career, Slabach taught English at Bremen High School and Ft. Wayne Community Schools in Indiana.
