Biography

The Hon. Marc D. Gross is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in December of 2012 by former governor Jerry Brown. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Peter D. Lichtman (Ret.).

He is a registered Democrat.

Judge Gross received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1977. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1981.

Gross began his legal career at the Beverly Hills law firm of Rifkind and Sterling Inc. in 1981 as an associate. After a year at the firm, Gross became a sole practitioner, opening the law firm of Gross and Gross PC in 1982. He served as a principal at the law firm, which specialized in personal injury, business and family law as well as medical malpractice cases. Gross remained at the firm until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2012.
