Biography

The Hon. Lorna A. Alksne is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Wayne L. Peterson.

Alksne earned a bachelor’s degree from Mills College. She then received a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1992.

Alksne served as a court commissioner for the Superior Court of San Diego County from 2001 to 2005. Prior to this appointment, she worked as a special assistant to Paul Pfingst, the former district attorney of San Diego County. She has also worked as an associate at Paul, Plevin, and Sullivan.
