Biography

The Hon. Lori E. Pegg is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown on August 29, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Kenneth L. Shapero.

Pegg earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then received a J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1986.

She began her legal career as an associate at Wise & Shepard, where she focused on labor and employment law. Three years later, she moved to Kauff, McClain & McGuire, where she continued handling labor and employment cases. Then, in 1992, she joined Burke, Williams & Sorensen. She entered as an associate, eventually rising to partner before serving as of counsel for Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Pegg served as deputy county counsel, lead deputy county counsel, and acting county counsel for the Office of the County Counsel of Santa Clara County from 2001 to 2013.

She is registered as a Democrat.
