The Hon. Lorenzo R. Balderrama is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John P. Wade.

Balderrama earned a B.A. in English literature from Harvard University in 1975. He then completed a J.D. from Western State University College of Law in 1981.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Balderrama served as a deputy district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County from 1982 to 2010.

He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in 1953. His father was a small business owner who, over the course of his career, operated a grocery store, a check cashing business, a caramel corn shop, and three motels.

Balderrama attended Daniel Murphy High School, where he competed on its swim team. He also participated in its Mission Club, the purpose of which was to provide recreational activities to underserved youth.

Balderrama was a resident of Redlands, California at the time of his appointment. He has been a parishioner of the Holy Name of Jesus.

He is registered as a Democrat.
