Biography

The Hon. Laura C. Ellison is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was originally appointed to the South Bay Municipal Court in 1998 by former governor Pete Wilson. At the time of her appointment to the Municipal Court, she succeeded the Hon. Benjamin Aranda (deceased), who passed away in January of that year.

Judge Ellison received her B.A. from California State University. She went on to earn her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1987.

Prior to her appointment to the Municipal Court, Ellison worked as a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. During her 10 years with the D.A.'s office, Ellison served as a prosecutor in their Hardcore Gang Division.
