Biography

The Hon. Jon D. Ferguson is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on February 8, 2005.

Ferguson earned a B.A. in sociology from the University of California, Riverside. He then completed a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law as well as an LL.M. from Duke University School of Law.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Ferguson served as a deputy district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County. He was a participant of its Prison Lifer Hearing Unit from 2003 to 2005.

He is a recipient of the Humanitarian Award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (1994) and the Prosecutor Recognition Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (1999).

Ferguson has served on the Board of Trustees of the San Bernardino County Law Library. He has also been President of the Deer Canyon Little League and the Director of the San Bernardino Child Advocacy Program.

He has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne College of Law.
