Biography

The Hon. Joel R. Wohlfeil is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Raymond Edwards Jr.

Wohlfeil earned a B.A. from Northern Arizona University. He then received a J.D. from Western State University College of Law.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Wohlfeil worked as an associate at Bauman & Wohlfeil from 1991 to 1996. He then became a principal at Boudreau, Albert & Wohlfeil, a position he held until his appointment to the bench. Over the course of his legal career, Wohlfeil specialized in personal injury matters.

His memberships have included the American Judges Association, the California Judges Association, the San Diego County Judges Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates.

He is registered as a Democrat.
