The Hon. Jacki C. Brown is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on May 16, 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Richard Behn.
Brown earned a B.A. from Mills College in 1974. She then received a J.D. from the University of San Francisco in 1977.
Brown began her legal career in 1979 as a legal editor for Matthew Bender Legal Publishers. The following year she joined the Office of the District Attorney of San Mateo County as a deputy district attorney for four years. She then transferred to the Office of the District Attorney of Marin County, where she served as a deputy district attorney until 1989. Then, in 1989, she briefly worked as an attorney with the Law Office of Jacki B. Evans, right before joining the California Fourth District Court of Appeal as a senior research attorney in 1990.
Brown worked as an adjunct professor at Western State College of Law from 1994 to 1996.
She has been a member of the Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley since 1994. She has also been a member of Faith Episcopal Church since 2004.
Brown was born in Oakland, California in 1952. She self-identifies as a Protestant and is registered to vote as a Republican.
She enjoys singing, jogging, and traveling.
