Biography

The Hon. Gerrit W. Wood is a judge for the Sacramento County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2008 by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Talmadge Jones (Ret.).

He is a registered Republican.

Judge Wood received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Wood was practicing as a senior trial attorney for the law firm of Vitale and Lowe. Before that, he was a managing partner at Donahue, Wood, and Loving from 1979 to 2002.
