Biography

The Hon. Gary J. Ferrari is a judge with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He succeeded the Hon. John Leahy in his appointment to the Superior Court by former governor Pete Wilson in April 1998. Judge Ferrari had been serving on the Municipal Court in Long Beach after his 1989 appointment by then-governor George Deukmejian before being elevated to the Superior Court.

Judge Ferrari received his B.A. from the University of California and went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola Marymount University in 1970.

After law school, Judge Ferrari joined the Long Beach City Prosecutor's Office as a city prosecutor. After a decade with the Prosecutor's Office, Ferrari served as deputy city attorney for the city of Long Beach from 1981-1989.

During his time on the bench, Judge Ferrari has served as Supervising Judge for the Southern District of Los Angeles County.
