Biography

The Hon. Franklin E. Bondonno is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of William R. Danser.

Bondonno earned a B.A. from Pacific Union College in 1965. He then received a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1970.

He began his legal career as an attorney in private practice. Then, in 1972, he joined the Office of the District Attorney of Santa Clara County as a deputy district attorney. His service there was brief.

The following year, he left the public sector in order to accept a position with Popelka Allard. During his tenure there, he specialized in products liability, environmental litigation, general tort litigation, and intellectual property litigation, eventually rising to managing partner in 1997.

His memberships have included the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Association of Defense Counsel, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Bondonno was born in San Francisco, California.

He is registered as a Democrat.
