Hon. Elaine W. Mandel is a judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California. She was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 2, 2009, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Aurelio Munoz.
Mandel attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a B.A. in 1989 and a J.D. in 1992.
Mandel began her legal career in 1992. She worked as an associate with Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, Alexander, and Ferdon before joining Stolpman, Krissman, Elber, Mandel and Katzman as an associate in 1993. Seven years later, she moved to Kiesel, Boucher, and Larson, where she worked as an associate and a partner until her appointment to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 2009.
Mandel was a resident of Santa Monica, California at the time of her appointment to the bench.
She is registered to vote as a Democrat.
