Biography

The Hon. Edward B. Moreton, Jr. is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2006 by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Ruffo Espinosa, Jr. (Ret.).

He is a registered Republican.

Judge Moreton received his B.A. and B.S. from the University of Utah. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law.

Moreton began his legal career as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in 1985. In 1988 he became an associate for the law firm of Riordan and McKinzie, where he practiced civil litigation from 1988 to 1991. Moreton then joined the U.S. Attorney's Office as an assistant U.S. attorney in 1991. He remained in that capacity until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2006.
