The Hon. Donald J. Currier is a judge for the Sacramento County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2010 by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He is a registered Republican.

Judge Currier graduated with his B.A. in criminal justice from California State University, Sacramento in 1984. He went on to earn his J.D. from Lincoln Law School in 1990. Currier then received his M.S. in military strategic studies from the United States Army War College in 2003.

Judge Currier devoted most of his adult life to the service of his country. In 1976, he began his military career as an enlisted military police soldier in the United States Army. Four years later, he received his commission from the California State University Sacramento Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1982. His career as a Military Police Officer would span three decades, where Currier would maintain continuous upward mobility through the ranks. Some of his many assignments included serving as the Assistant Operations Officer for the 185th Military Police Battalion in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, and as the 49th Military Police Battalion Commander for the unit's deployment in Operation Noble Eagle. Currier was promoted to Brigadier General in October 2008. He has also received numerous awards and commendations for his service. Some of these include the Bronze Star, the Meritious Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.

Some of Currier's civilian positions included working as a police detective for the Sacramento Police Department for several years beginning in 1984 and as a deputy district attorney for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office from 1991 to 1996. Currier also served as staff counsel for the California Department of Veterans Affairs, a chief deputy director for then-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Office of Criminal Justice Planning, and as chief legal counsel for the California State Lottery. Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court, Currier had served as chief legal counsel for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 2007 to 2008 and as the chief deputy inspector general for the California Office of the Inspector General, a position he would hold until his appointment to the bench two years later.
