The Hon. Dennis J. McLaughlin is a judge for the Alameda County Superior Court in California. He was originally appointed to the Alameda County Municipal Court by former governor Pete Wilson. He was then elevated to the Superior Court in 1998 as a result of the court's unification.
Judge McLaughlin received his bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University. He went on to earn his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1980.
Prior to his appointment to the Municipal Court, McLaughlin served as a deputy district attorney with the Alameda County District Attorney for sixteen years.
While on the bench, Judge McLaughlin has served as a supervising judge for the Fremont Hall of Justice Courthouse, where he has presided over a general criminal calendar.
