Biography

The Hon. Charles F. Adams is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown on October 11, 2018, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Derek Woodhouse (deceased).

Adams earned a B.A. from the University of California, Davis. He then completed a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.

He began his legal career in 2003. He initially worked as an associate with Voss & Associates. The following year, he left the firm and joined McDermott & McNamara. He spent one year there before returning to Voss & Associates in 2005. Then, in 2006, he joined the Superior Court of Santa Clara County as a legal research attorney. He served in that capacity for five years, eventually leaving to accept a position as a law clerk for the Hon. Edward J. Davila of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He held this position until his appointment to the bench.
