Biography

The Hon. Brian F. Haynes is a judge of the Superior Court of Contra Costa County, California. In October 2007, he was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger replacing the Hon. Peter Spinetta. He was automatically re-elected in 2010 after running unopposed.

Judge Haynes earned his B.A. from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette and his J.D. from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California.

Prior to his appointment as Superior Court Judge, he was part of the Sentencing Realignment Committee, California District Attorney’s Association Sexually Violent Predator Committee, Contra Costa County Superior Court Behavioral Health Court Steering Committee, and the Vice President of Contra Costa County Deputy DA’s Association.

Judge Haynes is an active member of Contra Costa County Superior Court Security Oversight Committee, Contra Costa Superior Court Bail Committee, and the Contra Costa County Superior Employee Awards Committee.

He also served as an umpire for the Clayton Valley Little League.

Judge Haynes is a Republican.
