Biography

The Hon. Beverly L. Bourne is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench in 2013 by former governor Jerry Brown.

She is a registered Democrat.

Judge Bourne received her B.A. from the University of Southern California. She went on to earn her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Bourne joined the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office in 1995, first as a paralegal and then later as a deputy public defender. After nine years with the P.D.'s office, Bourne became a deputy alternate public defender and senior trial attorney for the Los Angeles County Alternate Public Defender's Office, where she would serve until her appointment to the Superior Court in 2013.
