Biography

Benny C. Osorio was a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He retired from his judicial post on November 14, 2018. The Hon. David K. Reinert filled the vacancy created by his retirement.

Osorio was originally appointed to the Superior Court in 2008 by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He had filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Irving S. Feffer.

He was registered as a Republican.

Osorio received his B.A. from Colgate University. He went on to earn his J.D. from Georgetown University Law School.

After graduating from law school, Osorio entered into private practice as a sole practitioner from 1994 to 1995.

Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court, Osorio served as a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office starting in 1995.

In November of 2016, Osorio was kidnapped and held for ransom during a trip to Cartagena, Columbia. He was ultimately rescued by an anti-kidnapping unit.
