Biography

The Hon. Anne E. Bouliane (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. Initially appointed to the Municipal Court of San Francisco County by former governor George Deukmejian in 1989, she was elevated to the superior court by former governor Pete Wilson in 1992. She retired from the bench in 2009.

Bouliane earned a J.D. from the Golden Gate University School of Law in 1980.

She began her legal career as a research attorney for the Superior Court of San Francisco County. Then, in 1981, she joined the Office of the District Attorney of San Francisco County, where she served until her appointment as a court commissioner for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in 1986.

While she was initially registered as a Republican, she eventually switched party affiliations. She joined the Democratic party in 1996.
