Biography

The Hon. Ann I. Jones is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Gray Davis in 2001.

Judge Jones graduated magna cum laude in 1977 with her B.A. in American history from Brown University in Rhode Island. She would go on to earn her master's degree in public policy as well as her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984.

After graduating from law school, Jones clerked for the Hon. Eugene Lynch with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. After completing her clerkship, she joined the law firm of Blecher and Collins as an associate. She practiced for the law firm for 8 years where she would eventually be named a partner. Jones left the law firm to serve as special litigation counsel for the Department of Justice. She would later join the Federal Trade Commission to serve as the Director for the Los Angeles office. Then in 1997, Jones was appointed Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She was serving in that capacity at the time of her appointment to the Superior Court in 2001.

Judge Jones has taught antitrust law as an adjunct professor for Loyola Marymount University and Pepperdine University.

She has also served as the judicial editor for the Receivership News publication starting in 2012.
