Biography

The Hon. Alice Vilardi was a judge for the Superior Court of Alameda County in California. She was appointed by former governor Gray Davis on October 4, 2001. She was re-elected in 2014 for a term that would have expired in January of 2021. She retired on October 6, 2017. Vilardi received a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law. Prior to becoming a judge for the Superior Court of Alameda County, Vilardi worked for two years as a managing attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the Administrative Office of the Courts. Before that, Vilardi practiced governmental law in Alameda County for four years. She was also general counsel to the East Bay Municipal Utility District, an attorney in Hayward, California and a deputy public defender for Santa Clara County.
