The Hon. William Cahill (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He was appointed by former Governor George Deukmejian in 1991.
Cahill earned a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1976. He then received a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1979.
Cahill began his legal career as a civil litigator. He worked for four different firms, including Cahill and Wood as well as Bronson, Bronson, and McKinnon. During his tenure as a civil litigator, he specialized in construction litigation and commercial litigation.
He was appointed to the Superior Court of San Francisco County twelve years later. He spent nearly a decade on the bench, presiding over the Law and Motion and Criminal Courts.
After retiring from the Superior Court in 2000, Cahill joined Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS), where he has worked full-time on its panel of arbitrators and mediators.
Cahill is registered as a Republican.
