Biography

The Hon. Wayne Kent Walston is a judge of the 58th District Court of Jefferson County. He was elected by the constituents of the county in 2015 and was re-elected to the bench for a second term in 2018.
Before pursuing a legal career, Walston graduated from Lamar University with a B.A. He then went on to earn a J.D. from Baylor University in 1998.
After receiving his law degree, he became an attorney with Branick and Walston in Jefferson County in 1999. During his private practice, he specialized in the practice areas of consumer, criminal, and family litigation.
He then went on to become a Municipal Court Judge in the City of Nederland, Texas. During this time, Walston also served on the Board of Directors of The Hughes Center, Inc., a position he still holds today. In 2015, Walston left the Nederland Municipal Court when he was elected to the bench of
the 58th District Court.
Walston is a registered Democrat.
