The Hon. Wallace P. Douglass (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He was initially appointed to the Municipal Court of San Francisco in 1991. He was then elevated to the superior court after the unification of superior and municipal courts in 1998.
Douglass earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1969.
He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Office of the District Attorney of San Francisco County. Then, in 1975, he joined the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, where he briefly worked as an attorney in Maryland. The following year, he returned to San Francisco and started his own private practice, specializing in criminal and civil law.
Douglass clerked for Justice John Holmdahl of the First District Court of Appeal in 1984.
He pursued a doctorate in Chinese language literature. While he never completed his studies, he has received extensive training in Mandarin Chinese.
