The Hon. Tricia J. Taylor is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2019. Her appointment came after the retirement of the Hon. Susan M. Speer (Ret.).
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Taylor graduated with her B.A. in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2004.
Taylor worked as a deputy district attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for twelve years prior to her appointment. After joining the District Attorney’s Office in 2007, she helped prosecute misdemeanor and felony cases. Her other legal experience includes serving as a law clerk at both the Law Offices of Marvyn B. Gordon and the Children’s Law Center in 2004.
She also taught students and teachers at The Center for the Celebration of Diversity in Education.
At the time of her appointment, Judge Taylor was a resident of Los Angeles, California.
