Judge Travis C. Brandt - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Travis C. Brandt is a judge for the Chelan County Superior Court in Washington. He was elected to the bench in November 2018.

At the time of his election, Brandt was a partner at the Brandt Law Firm, where he practiced alongside his sister, Tracy Brandt, and his brother, Frank. He joined the firm in 2004.

His legal career also included acting as a prosecutor on behalf of the City of Wenatchee for Johnson, Gaukroger, Smith & Marchant Law Firm, a former family law Guardian ad Litem in Chelan County Superior Court, an attorney at the Hammett Law Firm and Cassel, Buehler & Murdock Law Firm, and a conflict public defender for spillover cases from the Counsel for Defense of Chelan County.

Over the course of his legal career, Brandt argued several cases in the Washington Court of Appeals, Division III and gained trial experience in civil and criminal matters.

He received a B.A. from Central Washington University in 1995. Brandt then completed a J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 1998.

While pursuing his education, he served in the United States Air Force Reserve from 1991 to 1998. Brandt was subsequently honorably discharged from his military service.

He was a past president of the Chelan-Douglas County Bar Association.

He also spent time as a coach for the North Central Washington Youth Football League, the Wenatchee Youth Baseball, and Wenatchee Youth Soccer.

Born in Wenatchee, Brandt graduated from Wenatchee High School. He is married and has three children. His sister, Tracy, was named a commissioner of the Chelan Superior Court prior to his election to the bench.
