Hon. Tracey Westerhausen is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Doug Ducey in 2019.
During her judicial tenure, Westerhausen has held assignments in the Family and Civil Courts.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, she had practiced for twenty-one years as a partner at Debus, Kazan & Westerhausen, Ltd. (1998 to 2019). Westerhausen joined the firm as an associate in 1992. She also previously practiced as an associate at Debus, Bradford & Kazan (1986 to 1988). During her tenure at the firm, Westerhausen represented clients in both trial and appellate courts, as well as in post-conviction relief proceedings. Her areas of practice included personal injury, civil forfeiture, administrative law, juvenile law, and criminal matters.
Her legal career also included managing her own private solo practice in Phoenix (1988 to 1992).
Westerhausen reived an A.A. in paralegal studies from Phoenix College (1979) and a B.A. in English from Arizona State University (1982). She went on to complete a J.D. at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 1985.
After graduating from law school, Westerhausen began her legal carer as a clerk to the Hon. Sarah D. Grant with the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division 1 (1985 to 1986).
She served on two workgroups devoted to helping victims of sexual abuse and sat on the Board of Directors for Liberty Wildlife, a nonprofit foundation that provides wildlife education and also cares for injured animals.
