The Hon. Timothy P. Dillon is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in July of 2015 by former governor Jerry Brown.
He is registered without party preference.
Judge Dillon graduated summa cum laude with his B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany in 1978. He went on to earn his J.D. from the College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1981. While in law school, Dillon served as the Executive Editor for Professional Articles for the William and Mary Law Review.
After graduating from law school in 1981, Dillon joined the New York law firm of Golenbock and Barell where he practiced as an associate for five years. In 1986 he moved to the west coast to join the Los Angeles law firm of Wyman, Bautzer, Kuchel, and Silbert as an associate. After practicing there for two years, Dillon became a partner at Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard, Avchen and Shapiro LLP from 1988 to 1993. He would also partner at the law firm Shernoff, Bidart, Echeverria, and Bentley from 1993 to 2000 before entering into private practice. He opened up the Law Offices of Timothy P. Dillon in 2000 where he practiced civil law until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2015.
Judge Dillon has served as a legal lecturer at the University of California Gould School of Law.
His memberships have included the Italian American Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles, the State Bar of New York as well as the Los Angeles and State Bar of California Associations.
He has also served on the California Commission on Access to Justice and the Court's Access and Fairness Committees.
