The Honorable Theodore Campagnolo

Hon. Theodore Campagnolo is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Dough Ducey in 2015.

Prior to his appointment, Campagnolo was an assistant attorney general with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (2004 to 2014). During his ten-year tenure, he served as a senior litigation counsel in the Fraud and Special Prosecutions Section. Before that, he was a deputy county attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (1996 to 2004).

Campagnolo received a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1975. He went on to complete a J.D. at Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law in 1978.

After graduating from law school, Campagnolo began his legal career as a federal clerk to the Hon. Reynaldo G. Garza with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas and then followed Judge Garza to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Upon completing his clerkship, he became a chief felony prosecutor with the 197th and 103rd State District Courts in Brownsville, Texas (1981 to 1983).

Campagnolo entered into private practice in 1983. It was at that time, he joined Haywood & Campagnolo, where he practiced as a partner until 1985. He then opened his own private practice in Brownsville, Texas (1986 to 1988). Campagnolo continued to practice at other firms in Texas until joining the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in 1996. In private practice, he gained experience in civil litigation, business law, family law, and probate law.
