The Hon. Terri K. Flynn-Peister is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She was appointed by former governor Jerry Brown on December 27, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Kazuharu Makino.
Flynn-Peister received a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law.
She began her legal career in 1999, working as an associate at Latham and Watkins. Two years later she joined the Office of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of California as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Border Crimes Unit. Then, in 2002, she became deputy chief assistant U.S. attorney for the Office of the United States Attorney for the Central District of California, specializing in narcotics, violent crimes, and gangs. She held this position until her appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County in 2012.
She was a resident of Newport Beach, California at the time of her appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County.
Flynn-Peister is registered to vote as a Democrat.
