Biography

The Hon. Tami R. Bogert is a judge for the Sacramento County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench in 2010 by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She filled the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Louis R. Mauro to the Court of Appeal.

She is registered as a Republican.

Judge Bogert graduated with her B.S. in criminal justice from California State University, Sacramento in 1993. She went on to earn her J.D. from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento in 1996.

Bogert began her legal career at the California Department of Justice's Office of the Attorney General, where she worked as a project attorney in the Office on Violence Against Women from 2000 to 2001. She also served as the publication director and supervising attorney for the California District Attorneys Association from 2001 to 2003. Beginning in 2003, Bogert served as the deputy legal affairs secretary at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's Office of Legal Affairs for former governor's Pete Wilson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Then, in 2007, she became general counsel and subsequently the chief legal officer for the California Public Employment Relations Board, where she would remain until her appointment to the Superior Court in 2010. In that role, Bogert was tasked with administering California's labor-relations laws.

While on the bench, Judge Bogert has presided over a general trial, civil harassment /temporary restraining orders, and felony warrants calendar.

In 2015, Judge Bogert and her husband, Scott Yuill, both received the Distinguished Service Award from their alma mater California State University, Sacramento.

Bogert and Yuill are both Sacramento natives. In 2013, Judge Bogert presided over her husband's oath of office, when she swore him in as the mayor of the City of Rocklin.
