The Hon. Steven M. Basha (Ret.) was a judge for the Yolo County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006. He filled the vacancy created by the appointment of the Hon. Michael Warren Sweet to the Sacramento County Superior Court. Basha retired from the Yolo County Superior Court in January 2018, and his vacancy was filled by the Hon. Peter M. Williams.

Basha was registered as decline-to-state.

He received his B.A. from Albion College in 1968. After graduating from college, Basha taught math and athletics at three different Michigan high schools for eight years beginning in 1968. He then embarked on the pursuit of his law degree, earning his J.D. from Western Michigan University, Cooley Law School in 1979.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Basha had served as the county counsel for Yolo County since 2000. He had worked for the Yolo County Counsel's Office since 1997, where he started as an assistant county counsel. Before joining the County Counsel's Office, Basha had served as district counsel for the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District for one year beginning in 1996. He also worked at the Sacramento and Imperial County Counsel's Offices prior to that.

During his tenure on the bench, Basha served as the Presiding Judge of the Court from 2012 to 2015. He also presided in the Criminal, and Juvenile Dependency and Juvenile Delinquency Divisions.

He was appointed by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court to serve on the Futures Commission in 2015

He also served as a speaker and presenter on the subjects of juvenile dependency and juvenile delinquency issues as well as on the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
