The Hon. Stephan G. Saleson is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on February 1, 2006, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Dennis G. Cole.
Saleson earned a B.A. from Michigan State University in 1973. He then completed a J.D. from Pepperdine School of Law in 1976.
He began his legal career in 1977. He first served as a deputy district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County.
Three years later, he left the public sector, accepting a position as an associate at Gresham, Varner, Savage, Nolan & Tilden. He practiced with the firm until 1997, where he was eventually named partner. Then, in 1997, he joined Varner, Saleson & Brandt as a partner. Over the course of his legal career, Saleson specialized in state and federal civil litigation, labor and employment law, as well as OSHA law.
His memberships have included the San Bernardino County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Saleson was born in East Lansing, Michigan. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971.
